· Used in gas chromatography to prevent ghost peaks and to improve baselines
· Used for carrier gases and for flame ionization detector air and hydrogen gases
· Used to remove moisture and impurities from gases when purging spectrophotometer compartments
· dries gases to a dryness of 0.005mg/L
· Color changes from blue to pink upon exhaustion
· Removes impurities that have an effective molecular diameter of less than 5 angstroms(A)
